Like most people we were appalled by what we witnessed on the 24th February 2022 when Russia invaded Ukraine. We witnessed the amazing kindness of people who were sending Ambulances, fire engines, military equipment, food and so much more and felt we must do something to help as well.
So what we did was evaluate what stock we had and then speak with contacts we had in Ukraine who told us what they really needed was Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) protective equipment after incidents at the power stations in Chernobyl and Zaporizhzhia.
Fortunately, the Metropolitan Police had already donated to us thousands of items of CBRN protective equipment from suits to wellies and hydration packs to decontamination tents. The total value of which was around £200,000.
With the help of Driving Essential Supplies to Ukraine, we were able to get this equipment to Ukraine July 2022.
